Event Description

Concerned over the suffering on the continent of Africa, especially Nigeria, Medecins Aux Tours de la Terre (MTT) was formed to address among others, the persistent spread of malaria disease, which have made life very miserable for the people, especially the children and Women. The goal of MTT is to become a vibrant voice for the voiceless; soliciting, linking and facilitating the needed resources for sustainable development. The malaria programme which held in the month of April, focused on the general population of the Kuje Community with special attention on pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and persons living with HIV/AIDS. These groups of people were chosen because; the general environmental condition induces the breeding of mosquitoes, the vector of malaria parasite which affects the health of the general population.

Activities of the programme included sensitization seminar on combating and controlling malaria spread, distribution of anti-malarial bed nets to the pregnant women and a visit to the different wards of the clinic.

The aim of the project is to contribute to the global reduction of malaria spread by improving behaviors related to the prevention and treatment of malaria.
